Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, Les Forts de Latour is aged with the same care as the Grand Vin. The only notable difference, apart from its origin, is the proportion of new barrels - between 50 and 60% - used for its aging. The blend of Forts de Latour can vary from year to year, but there is a higher proportion of the Merlot grape (25 to 30%) compared to the proportions found in Grand Vin.
