The very famous Glenfiddich 40 years old is made according to an ancient blending practice: the selected barrels are mixed together before being blended with a few liters of the previous blend. Glenfiddich is the latest distillery to use this continuous process, known as sticky blending. Only 600 bottles are sold each year. On the palate, this whiskey is prodigiously silky and lush, with intense notes of dried fruit cake, dates, grapes and applesauce.
