Laphroaig 10 years old is the original version of the whiskey from the distillery. Even today, it is still distilled the same way it was when Ian Hunter invented it more than 75 years ago. To give it its rich and particularly smoky taste, the malted barley from the distillery is dried over a peat fire. Thus, the Laphroaig distillery still malts part of its barley (around 30%). This 10-year-old Laphroaig Single Malt therefore has an exuberant and daring personality. On a background of oily peat and fruity notes (exotic fruits and red fruits), it reveals a rich aromatic palette followed by a hint of surprisingly sweet seaweed scent.
