This 30 year old single malt is The Ian Hunter Story's first release from the Islay distillery in Laphroaig. The Story is a series of fifteen aged single malts, celebrating the chapters in the life of Ian Hunter, the last member of the founding family of the distillery to own and manage Laphroaig. Hunter took over the management of the distillery in 1908 and was responsible for launching Laphroaig in single malt. This series commemorates Hunter's influence and celebrates the unique spirit he helped create. This 2019 version was aged for thirty years in first fill American white oak bourbon casks and conditioned at 46.7% abv, without cold filtration, with only 4,800 bottles produced.
