Zacapa rum comes straight from Guatemala where it is distilled by the Botron-Requejo family. Lorena Velasquez, master distiller, checks and selects the rum in each of the barrels used for blending. Ron Zacapa is the result of a long process of distillation from virgin sugar cane honey. The aging of Zacapa rum takes place in the highlands of Guatemala, at 2300 meters above sea level. This place is called "the house above the clouds". This is where the rum is imbued with the scents and aromas of wooden barrels.
